Mike Steele, MBA

Mike Steele, President, CEO, and majority owner, has over forty years of experience in financial services starting at Northwest Mutual as a licensed insurance agent in 1979. Mike, as a successful insurance agent, saw a need for his clients to have investment options outside of insurance. In 1995, he established Steele Capital Management as an independent registered investment advisor with a focus on helping clients obtain their financial goals. Mike has continued to push the company forward and has been instrumental in asset growth. He is a member of the investment committee, which selects investments for utilization in client portfolios and establishing the firm’s investment philosophy.

Mike graduated from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business, where he earned an undergraduate and a master’s degree in business administration. Mike is an avid supporter of the University of Iowa and even returned as a lecturer in the business school.

In Mike’s personal life, he and his wife have two grown children. In the fall, Mike can be found at Iowa Hawkeye football games as a passionate football fan and supporter of the University of Iowa. Mike also enjoys time on the golf course in Dubuque or in Scottsdale.
